Every cell in the body has its own resonant frequency. If just one single body organ is out of tune it will affect the whole body. By using resonance through sound, harmony can be restored in the body.
The principle of entrainment states that when two or more objects pulse at the same rate (or almost the same rate), they lock-in and begin to pulse at the same rate. Less powerful vibrations from other sources will then also lock into the same vibrational rate. This law of entrainment, discovered and defined by a Dutch scientist called Christian Huygen in the 1600’s, is visible all around us in nature, as well as in our daily lives. This principle can be used to heal dis-ease within our bodies in the same way. A strong, harmonious tone sounded to a person who is sick or out of balance will result in entrainment of the ‘out of balance’ element to the harmonious sound. Simon Heather has written a very informative article that explains this in much more detail. Click here to find out more.
The work of Masuru Emoto allows us to witness the vibrational effect of music. His work involves examining the effect of various outside influences (music, consciousness, words) on water crystals. The human body is made up of more than 70% water, so the implications of his research on humans are potentially great. The harmonious nature of the crystals in instances of certain types of music, with loving thoughts and words speaks for itself. It also provides visual evidence of the impact of pairing intent with sound, another important factor in sound healing. Jonathan Goldman has done much research on this, so for more information please visit his website.
In short, there is much evidence to suggest that sound coupled with intent helps to heal dis-ease, not only within humans (physically, emotionally), but also in the natural world around us. Imagine the possibilities… using sound to diminish pollution, to help resolve disputes, to lower crime rates…
As so eloquently put by Edgar Cayce – “The medicine of the future will be music and sound”
